In this knowledgebase article, we will be looking at configuring your custom domain mailbox on Thunderbird.
Thunderbird is free to use and openly available, making it a great alternative to mail applications that may introduce additional licensing fees.
It is however important to note the following:

See the following configuration guide:
1. Open Thunderbird
2. Select "Email" below "Set-up Another Account"
3. One the new window enter the following:
- Username - Full Email Address i.e you@yourdomainhere.africa
- Email Address - Full Email Address i.e you@yourdomainhere.africa
- Password - *******
Now select "Manual Configuration ..."
4. Replicate the below settings
Incoming:
Protocol - POP
Server: mail.yourdomainhere.africa
Port: 995
SSL encryption: SSL/TLS
Username: Full Email Address
Password: *******
Outgoing:
Protocol - SMTP
Server: mail.yourdomainhere.africa
Port: 465
SSL encryption: SSL/TLS
Username: Full Email Address
Password: *******
5. Verify the settings
- A green tick symbol will appear confirming your settings are in order
- Click "Done" to complete your set-up
